Director General of OPCW Receives Credentials of Qatar's Permanent Representative

HE Director General of the Organization for the Prohibition of Chemical Weapons (OPCW) Fernando Arias received the credentials of HE Abdullah bin Hussein Al Jaber as the Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the OPCW.

During the meeting, HE the Director General of OPCW commended the important role that the State of Qatar plays in supporting the Chemical Weapons Convention and its cooperation with the organization in various fields, including hosting training courses and providing support for its activities, as well as the role played by the Doha regional center for training on weapons of mass destruction conventions.

For his part, HE the Permanent Representative of the State of Qatar to the OPCW confirmed the commitment of the State of Qatar to its absolute support for the Chemical Weapons Convention.

His Excellency said that the State of Qatar condemns the use of chemical weapons under any circumstances and in all situations, noting that the State of Qatar is always ready to cooperate and support the activities of the organization, including combating chemical terrorism, in pursuit of world peace and security.
